Dr Jimmy Philip is a senior lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He received his B.E and Master’s degrees from the University of Pune and Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay, respectively, both in Mechanical Engineering. He also received his PhD from the faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.
Subsequently, he was a post-doctoral researcher at LadHyX, Ecole Polytechnique, France and at the University of Melbourne. He has worked as a mechanical engineer, while being a member of the Edison Engineering Development Program at the Global Research Centre of the General Electric Company in India.
His research interests are shear flow instability, wall-bounded and free-shear turbulent flows including buoyancy effects and entrainment mechanisms.
