Northern Australia Fire Managers Forum 2017

Around 45 fire managers from across the north of Australia met in Kununurra, Western Australia, on Tuesday 20 June and Wednesday 21 June 2017 for the Northern Australia Fire Managers Forum, to discuss topics of currrent interests to the region.

The workshop took place at the Kimberley Grande with a field trip on the second day to see recent fire activities in the nearby region.

An outcome of the meeting was the annual Bushfire Seasonal Outlook for northern Australia - the Outlook will be publicly distributed soon as a Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC Hazard Note.

The NAFM 2017 forum was hosted by Western Australia's Department of Fire and Emergency Services, and Department of Parks and Wildlife. with the support of the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC. Other participants included Bushfires NT, Queensland Fire and Emergency Serivces, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Meteorology, AFAC, Landgate, Charles Darwin University, the WA Department of Agriculture and Food, and the Clean Energy Regulator.
