Panel discussion on intelligent fires at Bushfire 2016
With the theme of connecting science, people and practice Bushfire 2016 was a national bushfire conference held on 28-30 September, at the University of Queensland, Brisbane.
Hosted and coordinated by the South East Queensland Fire and Biodiversity Consortium , Bushfire 2016 was an engaging and informative conference that attracted more than 300 people. It was squarely aimed at connecting fire scientists, ecologists and students with onground fire operators, public land managers, land managers, planners and other fire and environmental professionals.
The Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC participated in the conference at various levels, including a trade display in the exhibition area. Dr Richard Thornton, CEO of the CRC, participated in a panel discussion on "Intelligent Fires - how can fire research and knowledge better connect with drip torches?"
