Professor David Lawrence has extensive experience as a statistician, survey methodologist and social researcher. His research experience covers a range of disciplines including biostatistics and epidemiology, mental health and Indigenous wellbeing.
David led Young Minds Matter: The Second Australian Child and Adolescent Survey of Mental Health and Wellbeing and was on the sample design team for the collection of national data for the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children. David has practical experience in large-scale survey design and an in-depth understanding of cutting-edge statistical techniques in cross-sectional, longitudinal, and linked administrative data designs.
Project leadership
For the first time, a nationwide research project investigated the mental health and wellbeing of Australia’s emergency service staff and volunteers. Beyond Blue in collaboration with the CRC, surveyed 20,000 current and former personnel from 33 police and emergency organisations across Australia about their mental health and risk of suicide.
