Abstract	Wildfire occurrence statistics describe the presence and quantity of ignitions across spatial and temporal scales. Fire occurrence research is based on regional fire incidence data containing the time, location and cause of all fires within a defined area and time period. This research has also relied on other spatial and temporal data, including terrain, land cover, human geography, weather, and fire danger indices, in analyse and modelling.
