Thomas Mortlock

Thomas is a risk scientist who specialises in modelling hazards in the coastal zone, in particular coastal erosion, storm surge and tsunami inundation risk.  His work involves the statistical and geospatial analyses of climate-ocean data with numerical wave and flow modelling.

He has extensive experience in topographic and hydrographic surveying and has worked for local government in the UK as a coastal engineer where he attained his Chartered Engineer accreditation.

Thomas holds a degree in Oceanography, a Masters in Coastal Engineering and a PhD looking at the impacts of wave climate change on the Southeast Australian coast.
