Dr Ross Peacock is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Biological Sciences at Macquarie University. Ross manages research focusing on understanding the resilience of rainforest communities to wildfire and climate change using a network of long term plots in northern NSW dating from the 1940s. Ross has worked around Australia for a range of conservation, land management, forest and fire-fighting authorities in varied roles including research, policy, environmental compliance and land management. Ross is also an active volunteer fire-fighter and attended a number of campaign fires in northern NSW during the 2019-20 fire season.
This project was completed with the support of the CRC's funding for quick response. It assessed the impacts of the 2019/20 fires on rainforest condition, status and regenerative capacity.
