Can we assume that the conditions that enable the prescribed burning will continue? This question was explored in a webinar hosted by the Prescribed Burning Centre of Excellence on a CRC study of the impacts of climate change on prescribed burning weather conditions in south east Australia.
CRC researcher Dr Hamish Clarke from the University of Wollongong detailed the research. Dr Clarke explained that the work of the research team from the From hectares to tailor made solutions for risk mitigationproject provides practitioners with quantitative information to assess their exposure to a range of potential changes in the frequency, seasonality and variability of prescribed burning weather conditions.
