Dr Adam Leavesley is a bushfire expert and prescribed burning practitioner with extensive experience in fire management and environmental conservation. Currently working with the ACT Parks and Conservation Service, Dr Leavesley plays a critical role in shaping and implementing fire management strategies across the Australian Capital Territory. His work focuses on the safe and effective use of prescribed burning to reduce bushfire risk and enhance biodiversity, while balancing ecological and community needs.

With a detailed understanding of fire behaviour, fuel loads, and ecosystem dynamics, Dr Leavesley has contributed to numerous fire management projects aimed at mitigating the impact of wildfires on both natural landscapes and urban areas. He is a committed advocate for integrating scientific research with practical field applications to improve resilience against bushfire threats. He is also passionate about bushfire fighter health and the unique difficulties that our sector faces to address the risks.
