The development of the BNHCRC is closely linked to the activities of the Bushfire CRC. Indeed, it was a requirement of the Prime Minister’s announcement back in April. Therefore, discussions have taken place between both CEOs regarding key aspects of an agreement between the two CRCs. These have related to:
Staff sharing
Each CRC has many skills that can be used by the other. An agreement is being discussed that will see the capabilities shared between the two CRC to ensure no duplication of effort, and to manage the transition of the Bushfire CRC’s know-how and systems into the new CRC.
Accommodation
To ensure a close working relationship between AFAC, the Bushfire CRC and the BNHCRC there is a requirement for the new BNHCRC to occupy space on level 5, 340 Albert Street, East Melbourne. This will also help with the sharing of other resources.
