Australian Disaster Resilience Index – launch recording

This is a recording of the online launch of the Australian Disaster Resilience Index, hosted by the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC in partnership with the University of New England.

The Index was launched on Wednesday 29 July 2020 and is now ready to explore at https://adri.bnhcrc.com.au.

The launch featured presentations from:

  • 0:17 Dr John Bates, Research Director, Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC
  • 3:42 Mark Crosweller, Director of Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC, Founder and Director of Ethical Intelligence, and Senior Advisor to KPMG
  • 16;15 Dr Melissa Parsons, lead researcher, University of New England

The launch recording also includes a video tour of the Australian Disaster Resilience Index website (produced by the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC), as well as an interview between Dr John Bates and Dr Melissa Parsons, and an audience Q&A session.

The summary report mentioned at the launch is available to download here. 

The Australian Disaster Resilience Index provides the first nationally standardised snapshot of disaster resilience across Australia and has been developed to help communities, governments and emergency services take informed and practical steps to improve the disaster resilience of their local communities.
