Aus & NZ Disaster and EM Conference 2020

CRC research will feature on the program at the upcoming Australian and New Zealand Disaster and Emergency Management Conference 2020, rescheduled due to COVID-19 and now taking place on 1-2 October 2020 on the Gold Coast. The conference will look into the latest research, technology, policies and practical experiences in disaster and emergency management while exploring the themes of leadership, communication and community engagement. The key themes to be addressed at the two day conference include:

  • Leadership: Preparing for, and shaping the future
  • Communication: Getting the right messages to the right people, who understand what to do
  • Community Engagement: Embracing the knowledge and untapped potential

DUe to the rescheduled date, abstract submissions have been extended. They now close on 29 May, while earlybird pricing has been extended to 10 July. The program will be available on the website on 23 June.

2020 marks the ninth year of the conference, and the sixth co-hosted by the CRC. The Australian and New Zealand Disaster and Emergency Management conference is a joint initiative of three not-for-profit organisations: the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC, the Australian Institute of Emergency Services, and the Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Association Inc.
