Mapping approaches to community engagement for disaster preparedness in Australia

This video reports the outcomes of the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC project 'Mapping approaches to community engagement for preparedness in Australia'. The research team explains the Australian Generative Model of Community Engagement for Preparedness that maps emergency agency and local council engagement practice and aspirations, reports on community engagement techniques that have been tested in emergency management, and explains how they have mapped these techniques against the model for use in the field in the form of toolkits for both the techniques, and measurement and evaluation of community engagement efforts.
