Community preparedness, warnings and response to 2017 NSW fires

This research was recognised for Excellence in Research by the Emergency Media and Public Affairs. The research, undertaken by Dr Josh Whittaker of University of Wollongong, Australia and Dr Mel Taylor of Macquarie University, after the 2017 fires in northern New South Wales led to NSW Rural Fire Service putting in place new processes to better liaise with communities during major fire events, further strengthening RFS' approach to public information.
