This project aims to investigage near-surface wind fields during tropical cyclones that make landfall through observation and numerical studies. This research will develop improved methods for estimating the risk these cyclones pose to buildings and communities; as very limited data exists on the structure of turbulent winds within the built environment during cyclones. This project will address questions around the true structure of these wind fields and how they impact buildings and communities.
