Nicholai is a candidate for the Doctor of Business Administration with the University of Wollongong and his areas of interest include organisational performance, leadership and leadership development. His research is focused on utilizing leadership development as an instrument to promoting Organisational Citizenship Behaviour and cultivating Social Capital, which have been associated with reductions in intentions to quit and improved engagement among organisational members. Nicholai is part of a collaborative team in the University of Wollongong, which is working to deliver a leadership development program to the State Emergency Service of NSW aimed at reducing turnover intention and increasing job satisfaction among volunteers.
