Water bombing display at the RFSA 2015 conference.
There was plenty of interesting in all things Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC and AFAC at the 2014 Rural Fire Service Association conference in Mudgee, NSW. Over 500 delegates attended, mainly RFS volunteers, with the joint CRC and AFAC stand a popular destination during presentation breaks.
Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC project leader A/Prof Jason Sharples (University of NSW) gave a presentation on fire coalescence, spot fire ignition and other extreme fire behaviours, which was well received by the audience. You can view A/Prof Sharples talk in full below.
Also on the program was AFAC CEO and CRC Board Member Stuart Ellis, who discussed the industry wide developments underway through AFAC. His talk is also available below.
The RFSA conference is held every second year, and is a chance for RFS members to learn, network and share their experiences.
The conference was at the Parklands Resort and Conference Centre, Mudgee, from 19-21 June 2015.
