An opportunity for an experienced director with an understanding of large national research initiatives to lead the Board of this established Cooperative Research Centre is now open. The Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC research program is focused on public safety initiatives that provide thought leadership and a long-term knowledge base that directly supports emergency services, and other government and non-government agencies, to protect communities and reduce disaster-related costs. Expressions of interest are sought from appropriately qualified and experienced professionals for this significant governance and leadership appointment. The ideal candidate will have an established record of participation and contribution at Board level, ideally as Chair, in similarly aligned organisations where you have demonstrated strong business acumen and high-level leadership, influencing and stakeholder engagement capability.
The Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC has a vision to be the preferred and trusted source of research and knowledge in bushfire and natural hazards. We conduct:
National research to build a disaster resilient Australia
Across all natural hazards including bushfires, flood, storm, cyclone, heatwave, earthquake and tsunami
Developed by members and delivered under the direction of researchers and end-users
To be used by our members and embedded into the planning, policies and operations of partner organisations
For the benefit of the community to explore the causes, consequences and mitigation of natural hazards and build disaster resilient communities.
