The sixth International Wildland Fire Conference 2015 is in Korea in October, with the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC as a sponsor.

The Conference will bring together policy makers, researchers and practitioners and also international organisations and NGOs from around 80 countries to discuss the global efforts underway to deal with wildfires.

Several CRC associated speakers are on the program or will be in attendance, including the CEO of the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC Dr Richard Thornton.

The keynote speaker is Margareta Wahlstrom, Special Representative of the Secretary-General For Disaster Risk Reduction and head of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction.

The conference will be held in Korea from 12-16 October 2015. The venue is the Alpensia Convention Center, Pyeongchang-gun County, Gangwon-do Province, The Republic of Korea.

The Korean Forest Service is host.
