Australian Journal of Emergency Management - January 2016
The new Australian Journal of Emergency Management is out - published for the first time by the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience.
The Institute is a partnership between the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council, the Australian Red Cross and the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC, in conjunction with the Australian Government's Attorney-General's Department.
This edition includes mix of peer reviewed and non-peer reviewed articles on key issues in emergency management.
It also includes details of the winners of the 2015 Resilient Australia Awards – showcasing the breadth of work being undertaken across the country to enhance resilience to disasters small and large. The cover photograph - by Rebecca Hosking – was the winner of the National Photography Award.
The CRC is taking a lead role in the management of the Journal as it develops post the closure of the Australian Emergency Management Institute, the home of the Journal for many decades.
The Research Manager of the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC, Dr Michael Rumsewicz, is Editor in Chief. "As we work to reinvigorate the Journal over 2016, you will notice changes in content and design. The editorial team is looking forward to working with you to publish a Journal that informs, challenges and engages you as the reader. We welcome contributions of articles and suggestions for topics," he said.
The journal is available by email subscription or online here.
