Science at the Shine Dome

Science at the Shine Dome 2018 is a key annual event on the Australian scientific calendar. In 2018, the CRC was invited by the Academy to support the event with a focus on natural hazards science.

The annual symposium was held on Tuesday 22 May, providing an opportunity to explore the critical role that science plays in predicting, mitigating, responding to and recovering from natural hazards and extreme weather events.

The event was run by the Australian Academy of Science and featured CRC CEO Dr Richard Thornton and CRC Board Member Mark Crosweller as keynote speakers.

CRC researchers Jason Sharples and Vivienne Tippett also spoke about their research.
